On Saturday, June 11 at the Lipaya Headquarters, the children accompanied by our workshops and volunteers enjoyed a fun and recreational day in the park of the Lipaya neighborhood. Through games in these spaces, socialization, psychomotricity, creativity, and the integral development of the beneficiaries are promoted.
Renewing Outfits and Doing Groceries!
In Lipaya, on June 10, the community had the opportunity to buy clothing and food products at affordable prices. The use of second-hand clothes contributes to the care of the environment, reduces your carbon footprint (CO2), prolongs the useful life of garments, saves money, and gives an original touch to your closet. In addition, through the link with the Food Bank, food suitable for human consumption is rescued, benefiting communities in need.
Training and institutional links in Lipaya
On Thursday, June 2, at the Lipaya headquarters, we had a training and awareness activity with the liaison of the Women’s Secretariat of Barranquilla on the Prevention of Gender Violence. For the Foundation it is important to provide the community these training and reflection spaces for them to identify when their rights have been violated, learn the care routes offered by these institutions, and improve their quality of life.
Mother’s Day in Lipaya
On Saturday, May 28, we celebrated at the Lipaya Headquarters of the Foundation Mothers Day. On this day we share a special breakfast, dynamics, and games. We highlight this date because mothers play a fundamental role in raising children, especially the mothers of our beneficiaries who are strongly committed to their healthy development and their participation in the different projects we work for them. Happy Day to all the mothers part of our beautiful community.
Community Leadership
The beneficiaries of the Higher Education program at the Lipaya Headquarters are dressed in blue, this color is the new symbol of their role as society game-changers. These young people work with and for their community, supporting different activities of the Foundation. By becoming aware of the importance of their role and participation in society, our leaders will act as social agents that seek and promote the transformation of the reality of their community.
EMOTION-ART
Every Saturday at the Mi Ciudad Con Vida Foundation we promote different recreational activities where children and young people strengthen their social and emotional skills. In the psycho-affective project through art, children express how they live their emotions, as well this is a space for formative dialogue where they learn to identify and manage their different emotions.
Beginnings of the Classroom Workshop
The organizers of the Homemade Gardens Projects and the Environmental Guardians begin to organize in the facilities of the Foundation an area that will be used as a workshop classroom to those beneficiaries who do not have space available at home. Now they can also be part of this project and take care of their plants in the Foundation. In this way, the possibilities for children to carry out the activities of this project have been expanded.
Children’s Day Celebration

Welcome to children and young beneficiaries
After almost two years of pandemic and lock down, on Saturday, April 23, the official entrance was made with a warm welcome to the beneficiaries of the foundation. We received our kids with a pleasant breakfast, activities, games, dances, and songs. Together we received this new period with hope. It’s a pleasure to have them back at the venue.
Back to our green program
This year we resumed the project of Homemade Gardens to create environmental awareness in the children and young people of the community, forming them as Environmental Guardians. On Tuesday, April 5, together with Professor José Camilo, we visited the families to check the plants that survived last year. We investigated the conditions of the space for the projects of this new year, and we also invited families to continue participating in these types of activities.
