This Saturday, the Community Leaders group participated in the Girls’ Voices Fair, showcasing female leadership in our projects to various social organizations working for youth. It was an event organized by the Young Women’s Network of the Atlantic in commemoration of International Women’s Day.
A Warm Welcome to Our Beneficiaries, With Open Arms!
At an emotional event filled with smiles and hugs, we welcomed 150 children and young people from the community. With fun ludic-pedagogical activities and a delicious breakfast, the foundation’s team greeted the children and youth with enthusiasm and warmth. The children were invited to participate in various activities where they could integrate, meet the entire team, and also learn about the projects they will be part of in 2024.
Committed families, protected childhood!
We begin this 2024 with great enthusiasm and dynamism, thanks to the attendance of over 60 families at the welcome, socialization, and official opening session of the projects aimed at our beneficiaries.
Characterization Week
During this week, through the psychosocial program, home visits were conducted in order to characterize the children and their families who are in the process of joining our programs.
Closing of the Community Leadership project
The young people from the Community Leaders project had a beautiful closing ceremony, a space for citizen participation where various social actors were present, such as the Community Action Board, the community, and territorial entities, to listen to and give their opinions on the young people’s community proposals to address some of the sector’s issues. Additionally, a cultural dance showcase was held, and diplomas were awarded to all Community Leaders as a symbol of their commitment to Human Rights and Citizen Participation.
Follow-up week
This week, we began the follow-ups to update our database, which allows us to stay in touch with our beneficiaries. Additionally, we conducted academic follow-ups to verify the current enrollment status and promote school attendance.
We remain committed to education.
This week we carried out educational articulation activities, where meetings were held with our higher education students in order to continue the academic orientation process, and with parents from the inclusion program who were provided with information corresponding to the follow-ups and activities of this new year. Likewise, agreements were established and commitment agreements were signed.
Community Proposal Building
This week, from the Community Leaders project, working groups were formed for the development of community proposals. This activity is part of an educational exercise that allows young people to put into practice what they have learned during the training process and to propose strategies to solve the issues they have encountered within their community.
