We experienced a day full of unity, solidarity, and joy with our beneficiaries from the Soledad headquarters, featuring activities designed to highlight Christmas values, a delicious and healthy breakfast, and finally, the distribution of gifts. We deeply thank every person who contributed with their generosity, time, and dedication to make this magical day possible.
Environmental awareness and recycling workshop
Through the project “Educating for a Healthy Life,” parents learned about proper waste management, the importance of the three Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle), and the promotion of environmental awareness in their daily lives. To wrap up this learning session and say goodbye to the year, we shared a delicious Christmas salad, strengthening community bonds and celebrating this educational process together.
Yoga for a healthy life
Our parents from the “Educating for a Healthy Life” project participated in a session where they learned meditation techniques, mindful breathing, and basic yoga exercises. The activity aimed to promote physical and emotional well-being, helping to reduce stress and strengthen harmony at home.
Our parents are training in Community Project Management
This week, parents from the Soledad headquarters began the community project management workshops, an initiative that strengthens their leadership capacities and active participation in their environment. During this first session, participants learned about the diagnosis and design of community projects—key tools for driving solutions and improvements within the community.
Food support
Through the project “Educating for a Healthy Life,” we delivered food baskets to our participating families as a way to support their nutrition and holistic well-being. This initiative seeks to strengthen healthy habits and provide supportive accompaniment that benefits the entire family unit.
We are continuing with our Family Leadership School
At the Family Leadership School in our Soledad Headquarters, mothers and fathers participated in a meeting dedicated to recognizing and managing emotions within the family and community environment. Through participatory and reflective activities, they strengthened skills to improve coexistence and reinforce family bonds.
Visit to Educational Institutions
At the Soledad headquarters, we conduct visits to educational institutions to verify the academic retention of our children. These sessions allow us to coordinate work with the psychosocial care team, guide networking actions, and activate the necessary support pathways for our beneficiaries and their families. At the Mi Ciudad con Vida Foundation, we continue to strengthen ties with schools, convinced that education is a fundamental pillar for the development and holistic well-being of childhood.
Learning sociocracy at the Parents’ School
At our Soledad Headquarters, we are forming our Leadership School with parents and leaders from the Nuevo Horizonte neighborhood. This week, we learned how to make group decisions using the sociocracy methodology, practiced assertive communication, and explored how to resolve conflicts through respect and listening. We are building a more united, participatory community with strong leadership!
Building community at Soledad Headquarters
We held a very special meeting with parents, where they shared their ideas, experiences, and dreams to strengthen their environment.
During the session, we presented a training proposal on key topics such as community leadership, healthy eating, and food handling. The response was positive! Families showed great interest and willingness to take on a more active role within the volunteer program.
This is just the beginning of a process that seeks to empower families and turn them into agents of change in their community.
Special day at our Soledad headquarters
At our Soledad headquarters, we commemorated the Battle of Boyacá, joining the children in remembering the importance of our national holidays.
The Higher Education youth led the day, developing recreational activities, icebreaker games, and supporting the logistics of the event.
Additionally, we received a special visit from some of our partners and their families, who shared this space with the community.
