The beneficiaries of the Mi Ciudad con Vida Foundation participated in various play-based educational activities on July 29th at the Barranquilla headquarters and a nearby synthetic field. Among these, activities related to emotional control and environmental awareness stood out, using art, sports, and educational cinema.
Community leaders participate in the GenerActor project
Young people from the Leadership project participated in activities of the GenerActor project, an initiative by the European Union and the Barranquilla City Hall aimed at training communities in urban agriculture, sustainability, and social cohesion. In this activity, representatives from the Community Action Board of the area, the Southwest Youth Network, students from the José Raimundo Sojo school, and the Mi Ciudad con Vida Foundation took part.
Let’s learn about the importance of using ICT
From the “Educating at Home” project taking place in Soledad, this week we worked on providing high-quality digital resources to children to enhance their academic performance, and we discussed strategies to promote their safety and integrity. We formed workgroups where each participant could carry out practical exercises from their mobile phones. We utilized the “Colombia Aprende” platform from the Secretary of Education, as well as others such as Educalandia and Duolingo.
Environmental Guardians resumed the workshop classroom
The group of environmental guardians resumed activities in the Workshop Classroom, discussing the schedule of activities for this semester and carrying out tasks related to organization, cleaning, and teamwork.
Self-Care Week
On July 24th, a worldwide celebration of Self-Care Day took place. Therefore, throughout the week, the Food Security program conducted in Soledad carried out various activities aimed at maintaining good health through nutrition. One of the activities was called “Choose a healthy option for breakfast, snacks, lunch, or dinner.” The children had figures of different types of food to choose from, taking into account the knowledge they have acquired.
World Mangrove Day
Today, on World Mangrove Day, we emphasize the importance of this ecosystem with our boys and girls. We link the significance of nature with emotions and conflict resolution in each participant. We work on empathy, assertive communication, and strengthen mechanisms for civic engagement.
Community Leaders participate in the radio program “Caribe Joven.”
This week, representatives from the project “Community Leaders of Southwest Barranquilla” were invited to the radio program “Caribe Joven,” where they shared their experiences and learning about human rights and civic participation. During the interview, they discussed some social initiatives related to higher education and the importance of mastering a second language for young people to access better job opportunities.

Our children and adolescents experienced a morning of learning, laughter, and fun. Camaraderie and cooperation were the protagonists of this great day, during which tools were provided through play to strengthen their leadership skills, teamwork, and values education.

A day of cooperative learning. Through ludic-pedagogical activities of interaction, the boys, girls, and teenagers from the Mi Ciudad con Vida Foundation shared an exchange of ideas and cooperative experiences that allowed them to achieve collective goals.
