At the Conexión Sonora event, where tribute was paid to the artists Estercita Forero and Nelson Pinedo, Jesid Palencia, a beneficiary of the Community Leadership program, stood out by creating hand-drawn portraits of the honorees. His works, which captured the essence of the artists, were greatly appreciated. Jesid demonstrated the positive impact of the program on the development of his artistic skills and confidence. The Mi Ciudad con Vida Foundation congratulates Jesid for his contribution and reaffirms its commitment to strengthening young leaders.

Rehearsals are underway in Lipaya for our closing event.

The children and young people from the Lipaya center are enthusiastically preparing for the 2024 closing event, rehearsing a special performance in which they will act and dance. The rehearsals, led by the young members of the community leadership group, reflect teamwork and solidarity. This event will be a celebration of the participants’ achievements, highlighting their effort and dedication, and demonstrating how community work can transform lives and strengthen community cohesion. We are excited to see the final result of this collective effort!

The Supermarket: a fun and educational experience.

This week, the children from the dining hall participated in a fun activity called “The Supermarket.” During the activity, the little ones had the opportunity to choose foods from different categories, represented in a simulated supermarket that included both healthy and less healthy options.
With a basket in hand, each child selected products and explained their choices, reflecting on which foods were beneficial for their growth and development. This activity not only promoted learning about nutrition but also encouraged critical thinking and the ability to make conscious decisions about their diet.

Strengthening Youth Leadership

The young people from the community leadership group participated in a dynamic activity focused on strengthening their teamwork and conflict resolution skills. Through various practical activities, the participants learned strategies to manage differences constructively and work collaboratively. This experience not only provided them with tools to face challenges but also reinforced the importance of communication and mutual respect in the development of their leadership.

Discovering a World of Colors

During this session, the children participated in a dynamic activity designed to help them identify foods and strengthen their memory and language skills. By randomly selecting a color, the children named as many foods as possible corresponding to that color, also describing their nutritional properties. This activity not only allowed them to learn about the benefits of fruits and vegetables of different colors but also stimulated their ability to remember and express their knowledge in words.

In the dining room, a fun and educational activity was held about the properties and benefits of broccoli. The children participated in an interactive puzzle that allowed them to discover in a playful way how this vegetable strengthens their health. The activity promoted learning about the importance of good nutrition and encouraged the children to incorporate more vegetables into their meals.

Day of the Little Angels and Soccer Championship Final

This weekend, the Day of the Little Angels was celebrated, bringing together children and adolescents in a day of activities that promoted integration and values such as teamwork and respect. The celebration culminated with the final match of the *Goals of Joy* soccer tournament, where the finalist teams delivered an exciting game. At the end, the champions were awarded, highlighting their talent, effort, and dedication.
