This Thursday at the Lipaya Headquarters, the Colegiatura Colombiana together with the Ombudsman’s Office conducted an activity with young people on bullying and cyberbullying, providing children with strategies to maintain a healthy coexistence and interpersonal relationships, as well as emotional intelligence and empathy.
How to plan study time with children at home?
From the Educating at Home project, implemented in Soledad, we taught parents how to organize study time at home, through different strategies, such as the pomodoro technique and the Kamban method, the activity was developed in a group way exemplifying with everyday life situations that allowed enriching the process.
Let’s learn to choose the foods we consume on a daily basis.
This time we did it through a game where the children had to choose the healthiest foods and put together a menu, using high relief sheets with food and life-size portions.
By developing these activities, we want the children at the Healthy Nutrition Center to be able to identify the foods that should be consumed and how to distribute them in adequate quantities in order to stay healthy”.
Visit of students from Universidad Libre
This Saturday, Business Administration students from the Universidad Libre de Barranquilla, developed a social service with the beneficiaries of the Lipaya Headquarters, through activities focused on topics such as entrepreneurship, savings, time management, leadership, optimization of resources, business creation. Thanks to these activities, the children can learn about these topics that will be useful to sow in them the entrepreneurial spirit.
Cereals, an important group in our diet
In the nutritional workshops for parents, developed in Soledad, we continued working on the different food groups, this time we worked on the importance of cereal consumption, highlighting oats as one of the most important, as it is a food rich in iron, magnesium and calcium, it also provides energy, strengthens the immune system; with oats we can make multiple preparations, such as cookies, breads and smoothies. During the workshop the parents prepared delicious and nutritious pancakes.
Nutritional assessments
This Tuesday in Soledad, the nutritional assessments of the beneficiaries of the food security project began, with the objective of determining the nutritional status of children and identify possible risk factors associated with physical health, for this process we have the presence of two nutritionists and a doctor thanks to a partnership with the Food Bank.
Special visits and soccer tournament
This Saturday at the Lipaya Headquarters, we were visited by young people from the Attitude for Life Foundation from the Evaristo Sourdis neighborhood, who learned about the different projects of our Foundation, learned about planting techniques, shared their experiences with the children and played a soccer tournament on the community’s soccer field. These activities promote sports, healthy recreation, teamwork and strengthen interpersonal relationships.
Mental Health Week
This week in Soledad we celebrated the Mental Health Week, developing different activities that favor the socioemotional well-being of our children through different artistic activities, healthy habits and mental exercise, in addition to a campaign called “Don’t hit, better hug” to promote good treatment and reduce situations of violence.
Local Environmental Fair
This Saturday the group of Environmental Guardians carried out a Local Environmental Fair, where they explained to the visitors the different activities that are developed in the Foundation, such as planting seeds, making a portable home garden, a tour of the Garden-Classroom Workshop, exhibition of recyclable materials and environmental awareness
Weaving Values
The Environmental Guardians, our beneficiaries between 12 and 14 years old, held a workshop this Saturday at the Lipaya Headquarters to strengthen values such as patience, perseverance, perseverance and discipline through handicrafts. It is also an excellent exercise to promote concentration and creativity.
