Community leaders in recreational and training spaces
This week, the kids from the Community Leaders group held a recreational activity at the cinema, where they had the opportunity to strengthen group cohesion and teamwork in diverse environments. They were also invited to a training session organized by the Casa de la Mujer and the Women’s Network of the Atlantic to learn more about gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive rights.
Goals With Purpose
This Saturday, the children from the “Healthy Life” group participated in a sports activity aimed at promoting essential values such as respect, tolerance, and teamwork. Through various dynamics and games, emphasis was placed on using key words so that the children understood the importance of expressing gratitude, asking for things kindly, seeking permission, and offering apologies. By the end of the event, the participants not only demonstrated their sports skills but also showed a better understanding and practice of these fundamental values, reinforcing the activity’s objective.
Sharing experience with Meline
This week at the Soledad headquarters, we were joined by Meline, a special guest with excellent charisma, who came from France to share with us her experience in Colombia and teach us a bit about French culture. She also taught us some French words and the names of fruits and vegetables commonly consumed in her country.
Environmental Guardians Visit Mallorquín Marsh
Our Environmental Guardians visited the Mallorquín Marsh Ecopark. During this outing, various activities focused on preserving and caring for the marsh ecosystem were carried out. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the area’s biodiversity and engage in educational activities with park visitors. This experience not only contributed to the well-being of the environment but also strengthened our guardians’ commitment to protecting our natural resources.
Tribute to Mothers at the Lipaya Headquarters
During this day at the Lipaya headquarters, Mother’s Day was celebrated. It was an emotional event where the mothers of all beneficiaries were able to enjoy a special day filled with activities and surprises. The celebration included a beauty session as a form of self-care and self-love, as well as a special breakfast prepared for the occasion. Additionally, there were activities and games that allowed mothers to share fun moments and strengthen community bonds. The day was a success, making all the mothers feel valued and appreciated for their valuable work.
Educational activities that reinforce the nutritional process
Today, the nutrition team from the Food Bank and the University of the Atlantic accompanied us to teach the boys and girls in the food security program how the healthy plate of the Colombian family is constituted. They also conducted the second nutritional screening of the year as a follow-up to the nutritional recovery process and gave all beneficiaries a beautiful gift to remind them how important it is to include vegetables in our diet.
Knowing Our Rights
Today, the children of the Viajeros group participated in an educational experience focused on learning and understanding their rights according to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. Through interactive activities and watching UNICEF videos, they explored the importance of these rights in their lives and in society. The activity encouraged discussions and reflections, allowing the children to express their ideas and ask questions about the topic.
Environmental Guardians in Action
This week marked the beginning of activities for the Environmental Leadership Project of the Environmental Guardians Group. During this session, topics related to leadership and its various types were addressed. Additionally, the participants created art projects using recyclable materials.
We continue learning about food
Today, the boys and girls in the food security program carried out a meaningful activity related to food groups and the contribution they make to our bodies, enabling us to perform daily activities such as studying, walking, running, and jumping. The activity was conducted with images that they could associate according to their classification: builders, energy providers, and regulators.
