In the Nutritional Care Center we work to improve the eating habits of our children; this week we highlighted the importance of learning to choose a healthy menu, which needs to be balanced, complementary, and sufficient, taking into account the different food groups.
Beginnings of the Classroom Workshop
The organizers of the Homemade Gardens Projects and the Environmental Guardians begin to organize in the facilities of the Foundation an area that will be used as a workshop classroom to those beneficiaries who do not have space available at home. Now they can also be part of this project and take care of their plants in the Foundation. In this way, the possibilities for children to carry out the activities of this project have been expanded.
Children’s Day Celebration
On Saturday, April 30, at the Lipaya Headquarters, we celebrated Children’s Day with different activities and a pleasant breakfast. We remembered the importance of this day highlighting the rights of children such as the right to life, education, recreation, a family, protection etc.

Welcome to children and young beneficiaries
After almost two years of pandemic and lock down, on Saturday, April 23, the official entrance was made with a warm welcome to the beneficiaries of the foundation. We received our kids with a pleasant breakfast, activities, games, dances, and songs. Together we received this new period with hope. It’s a pleasure to have them back at the venue.
Back to our green program
This year we resumed the project of Homemade Gardens to create environmental awareness in the children and young people of the community, forming them as Environmental Guardians. On Tuesday, April 5, together with Professor José Camilo, we visited the families to check the plants that survived last year. We investigated the conditions of the space for the projects of this new year, and we also invited families to continue participating in these types of activities.
Follow-Up to cases in Soledad
This week we visited our group of families in Soledad to carry out our follow-up process and provide the necessary routes of attention to the priority cases.
Community Activities
The Psychosocial Accompaniment Program in partnership with the Food Bank of Barranquilla and personal donations managed to make a garage sale with used clothes in optimal condition and the delivery of food packages. This community activity was able to benefit more than 80 families.
A follow-up to the Higher Education Program
The Higher Education Program provides permanent accompaniment to its beneficiaries in the return to their presence in face-to-face classes. During this week we highlighted one of our beneficiaries of the program, Mayerlis Jaraba Bolívar, a young woman of twenty years old, example of resilience and personal growth. Currently Mayerlis studies two careers that she defines as her passions: Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the Universidad del Atlántico, studying fourth semester and at the National Learning Service SENA, Regency in Pharmacy. Mayerlis, from the foundation we are completely sure you will move forward and fulfill your dream of being a professional and be able to support your family.
We started with the Educational Articulation Program
This week we started with the activities of the Educational Articulation Program. We had the first parent conference of the beneficiaries of Higher Education and educational scholarships. In this space, the commitments and duties for 2022 were remembered.
