This week we began the food services at our Nutritional Care Center, where we welcome our boys and girls with a symbolic healthy route, in which at each step we describe the importance of proper nutrition. With this pedagogical strategy, we wanted to show the children all the things we will learn this year.
Characterization Week
During this week, through the psychosocial program, home visits were conducted in order to characterize the children and their families who are in the process of joining our programs.
Welcome to Parents 2024
This week at the Soledad headquarters, we welcomed the parents. During this session, a space for participation was opened where parents expressed the current issues present in the neighborhood. Some suggestions for activities for the projects to be worked on this year arose, and candidates were selected for the parents’ committee. Additionally, the coexistence manual was shared, and commitment agreements were signed for its compliance.
We continue with the home visits
The psychosocial support program continues with home visits to select boys and girls who would be entering this year to be part of the Food Security project.
The nutritional workshops begin
This week, at the Soledad headquarters, we welcomed parents to begin our nutritional workshops, a complementary training process for the nutritional recovery of our beneficiaries. In these workshops, Chef Jaime Buendía taught us how to prepare delicious zucchini burgers, a vegetable rich in potassium, folic acid, iron, and magnesium, ideal for strengthening our immune system, improving digestion, and keeping us energized throughout the day.
Closing of the Community Leadership project
The young people from the Community Leaders project had a beautiful closing ceremony, a space for citizen participation where various social actors were present, such as the Community Action Board, the community, and territorial entities, to listen to and give their opinions on the young people’s community proposals to address some of the sector’s issues. Additionally, a cultural dance showcase was held, and diplomas were awarded to all Community Leaders as a symbol of their commitment to Human Rights and Citizen Participation.
Home visits 2024
This week, home visits to the new beneficiaries joining the Food Security program began at the Soledad headquarters. These processes are crucial for identifying levels of socioeconomic vulnerability and understanding the family and nutritional history of the children.
Follow-up week
This week, we began the follow-ups to update our database, which allows us to stay in touch with our beneficiaries. Additionally, we conducted academic follow-ups to verify the current enrollment status and promote school attendance.
We remain committed to education.
This week we carried out educational articulation activities, where meetings were held with our higher education students in order to continue the academic orientation process, and with parents from the inclusion program who were provided with information corresponding to the follow-ups and activities of this new year. Likewise, agreements were established and commitment agreements were signed.
Beneficiaries and their families graduate from the Food Security program
The Food Security program acknowledges beneficiaries and their families who have completed a training and nutritional recovery process of over three years, achieving a healthy weight and acquiring knowledge in healthy eating that will enable them to maintain their well-being in the long term. We appreciate their dedication and commitment, which have allowed them to successfully graduate and conclude this process with joy.
