This week, at the Soledad branch, the nutritional team from the Food Bank conducted play and recreation activities promoting good nutrition. Practical exercises were carried out, including various recommendations such as eating fruit alone, not consuming more than two carbohydrates in a meal, always including a portion of raw or cooked vegetables, adjusting food quantities according to age, and ensuring that each meal contains a portion of protein.
Mindful Self-Care Workshop
With the support of a professional makeup artist and facial care expert, a mindful self-care activity was carried out for the parents and guardians of our affiliates. During this activity, they were provided with an awareness talk on self-care, as well as facial cleansing sessions, all aimed at promoting health and well-being.
Evaluation session
During this session, at the Lipaya headquarters, evaluative activities were carried out. Through Likert-type scales on life skills and the environment, we aim to measure the impact of the projects developed throughout the year on our affiliates. Likewise, a space for reflection and self-assessment was provided to them through fun contests and trivia.
Testing memory and knowledge about healthy eating.
During this session, from the Food Security program, we reinforced the food groups that should be consumed regularly by testing memory with a memory game, cognitive stimulation, and mental agility.
Commemoration of Columbus Day
During this session, the boys and girls from the foundation participated in workshops that promoted equality, diversity, inclusion, and critical thinking. This was achieved through psychoeducation, the creation of an activity called “Race Crowns,” and a discussion titled “Expressing My Point of View.”
Pedagogical space with the Barranquilla Zoo Foundation
This week at the Soledad headquarters, we had a visit from the Barranquilla Zoo Foundation to carry out various awareness activities on animal conservation and citizen participation with an environmental focus. During these activities, the children were able to learn about important aspects of the jaguar, one of the candidates in the “zooelections.”
Let’s learn how to prepare plant-based meat.
In our nutritional workshops, we teach parents how they can feed their families consistently, consciously, and lovingly. Each workshop includes a theoretical and practical space with ingredients, tasting for everyone, and a nutritional guide for replicating the recipe at home.
This week, we focused on how to prepare plant-based meat using soy protein, as it is a versatile food that can be included in different preparations.
Community leaders participate in the forum “Voices with Value”
Young people from the “Community Leaders” project participated in the forum “Voices with Value,” a learning space where different perspectives on issues and common conflicts in communities were shared. In this activity, various public and private entities participated, including the Secretary of Government, the Formar Educational Corporation, the Family Commissioner, Police Inspections, the Ombudsman’s Office, Community Police, and the People’s Defender.
Visiting Megua Biotematic Park
The beneficiaries of the Soledad headquarters had an unforgettable day at the Megua Biotematic Park, a place where boys and girls were able to have a close encounter with nature. They interacted with different animals, went on an ecological walk, had sensory experiences, and enjoyed various outdoor games.

This week, volunteers from the Bolívar Davivienda Foundation visited us to conduct strengthening workshops with the Youth Leadership Project. During the learning session, various topics were addressed, including tips for public speaking, personal presentation, how to create a resume, and the importance of technological tools in everyday life.
