During this week at the Soledad branch, we have been emphasizing the importance of keeping our children hydrated. This helps maintain good digestion, healthy skin, and ensures that brain cells receive oxygenated blood, benefiting concentration. Children between the ages of 5 and 9 should consume at least 7 to 8 glasses of water throughout the day. The activity was carried out through a simulation in which participants kept track of the glasses of water they needed to consume during the day.
Fast pastry workshop
Continuing with our entrepreneurship initiative, this week we held a fast pastry workshop at our Lipaya branch. This time, we had the participation of Gineth Cabrera, one of our graduates who has been developing her own pastry line through her venture “Brown.” She also guided the mothers and guardians of our members in creating delicious recipes. Additionally, she provided a talk on cost techniques and how to embark on entrepreneurship based on various dessert creations.
Building peace
During this session, the children and teenagers from the foundation experienced a comprehensive educational space. We focused on assertiveness in decision-making, promoted teamwork, encouraged healthy competition, and through playful tools and videos, discussed the topic of Sustainable Development Goals and the goals to achieve a protected country and a peaceful society.
We participated in the zoolections
The beneficiaries of the Soledad branch participate in “Zoolecciones,” an initiative of the Barranquilla Zoo Foundation, which involves the formation of groups of boys and girls who represent a species and promote its care among zoo visitors through recreational and awareness activities. Our group represents the jaguar, the third-largest feline in the world.
Jewelry-making course opening
This week, through our entrepreneurship program and in collaboration with the National Learning Service SENA, we started an exciting jewelry-making course. This space will enable the mothers and guardians of our members to learn and develop new techniques, acquiring skills in crafting various accessories.
The Friendship Journey
In the Soledad branch, this week we carried out the “Friendship Journey,” conducting various activities that promote the value of friendship and create spaces of joy, fun, happiness, and enthusiasm. All the participants wrote messages to their best friends through an imaginary mailbox and placed them in a mailbox for everyone to read. They also took photos with their best friends and shared some meaningful details.
Providing them with these types of experiences strengthens their self-esteem and teaches them that, no matter where we are, there will always be a moment to share and highlight the qualities that make our fellow companions fabulous people.
Knowledge day
Global warming and native fauna were the topics addressed this week with our boys and girls. Activities such as recognizing endemic species of Colombia, screening documentaries, active participation, and idea generation were conducted. This made the morning of learning very enjoyable.
Participative leadership
This week, young people from the leadership project carried out various recreational activities aimed at strengthening civic participation, taking into account the opinions of team members, which contribute to a higher likelihood of effective and efficient solutions to a specific problem.
Art and nutrition
Throughout the week, the Soledad branch was engaged in artistic and drawing activities focused on nutrition. These activities served an aesthetic purpose, aiming to enhance the enjoyment of the dining experience and encourage the process of adaptation and acceptance of food.
Recreational spaces within the family dynamics.
Within the “Educating at Home” project aimed at parents from the Soledad branch, we carried out activities related to the importance of recreational spaces in family dynamics, conducting some games that parents can replicate at home with their children. These activities promote togetherness, communication, and strengthen emotional bonds.
