Our children experience Carnival with art, joy, and passion

Our beneficiaries celebrate the Barranquilla Carnival with all their talent and creativity. Through dance, music, and their costumes, they show that art is a powerful tool for self-expression, growth, and dreaming big.

Beyond the festivities, Carnival is a symbol of resilience, teamwork, and opportunity.

Just as many artists and creators find in Carnival a platform to overcome challenges and showcase their talent, at Fundación Mi Ciudad con Vida, we believe in art as a tool for social transformation. Since our beginnings, we have provided our beneficiaries with spaces where they can discover, express, and strengthen their creativity through various artistic expressions.

Carnival is a window of opportunities, and just like this grand celebration, our Foundation encourages beneficiaries to carve their path in the artistic world, believe in their talent, and lead their own future.

Because art heals, unites, and transforms.

A leader who transforms their life through art

Juan Diego is one of our youth leaders at the Foundation, where, in his own words, he has found a space of unconditional support to strengthen his talent, confidence, and life project. He is not only part of our Higher Education and Community Leadership projects but also stands out for leading rumba therapy sessions at our headquarters and serving as the artistic director of our Christmas Show last year, inspiring children and young people to discover their passion for art.

In 2016, Juan Diego discovered his talent for dance, and since then, his dedication has led him to represent Colombia in international folk dance festivals in Ecuador and Mexico, showcasing the richness of our culture to the world. This year, his talent shone at the Barranquilla Carnival, with performances at events such as the Battle of Flowers and the Great Parade of Tradition, proving that with effort and passion, dreams can come true.

The Supermarket: a fun and educational experience.

This week, the children from the dining hall participated in a fun activity called “The Supermarket.” During the activity, the little ones had the opportunity to choose foods from different categories, represented in a simulated supermarket that included both healthy and less healthy options.
With a basket in hand, each child selected products and explained their choices, reflecting on which foods were beneficial for their growth and development. This activity not only promoted learning about nutrition but also encouraged critical thinking and the ability to make conscious decisions about their diet.
